Purple Jay welcomed the festive season with Lambeth nursery’s Christmas fair, themed “A Very Natural Christmas”.
The magical evening was enjoyed by parents, the children and our staff who celebrated with a range of activities.
From our very own market stall selling items made by the children to the visit from Santa; the evening is sure to be one to remember!
Our Festive Theme
At Purple Jay we like to thread nature into everything we do. So, naturally the theme came to fruition.
Our aim was to create a unique and charming feel to this event, to embody nature in an innovative and festive way – which I’m pleased to say the team did wonderfully!
The nursery was adorned in branches, flowers and leaves. We used logs and wood to display our items for sale and truly created a natural wonderland!
Elements of The Event
The Rooms
The Lambeth team did a brilliant job at transforming their conservatory into a cosy Santa’s Grotto.
The children loved snapping pictures with Santa throughout the evening!
The magical feel was carried on through each of the rooms which were all dedicated to the different activities for children to enjoy and parents to mingle!
Activities
The focus of the night, as with any event, was the children’s experience.
There was a dedicated letter writing station, where they could pen a letter to Santa and even post it in the handmade post box!
What a fantastic craft for the team to create! I will definitely be using this idea through the years to come.
Another activity primarily for the children, was the cookie decorating station.
Here the children got to ice, sprinkle and stick all sorts of edible decorations on their own ginger-bread men! They all looked just a little too good to eat!
Christmas Market
In the spirit of creating fun crafts, the Christmas fair would not be complete without a market!
The children and parents were given an extra special treat as the team sold gift bags and calendars which were completely unique as they were kindly personalised for each child!
Food & Drink
A christmas fair would not be complete without additional treats and refreshments for everyone to devour.
The Lambeth team treated their guests with a festive spread – consisting of finger food, veggie trays, juices and mulled wine. Most of us also got to enjoy our first mince pie of the year…
