When it comes to cafes, Kennington has an eclectic and interesting mix, which can actually make it a little overwhelming to choose sometimes, so we thought it would be useful to break down a varied mix of the best ones we’ve found since we’ve been running our Kennington and Lambeth nursery, Purple Jay Nurseries.

This absolute gem on Kennington Road serves up some of the best coffee in the area (from a single origin producer they work with year on year) in a modern, stylishly designed shop sprawling with gorgeous plants. They also have a really cute, green garden area that is a joy to enjoy a coffee in when the weather’s good.

Sugar Pot is a small, stunning, sustainably focused coffee shop on Kennington Park Road that serves up delicious coffee and food made with fresh, free-range, organic ingredients, most of which are sourced from local producers.
We really like the vision and mission behind their endeavour, which, in their words is to “create a vibrant, homely, family-run coffee shop” that helps to recreate the same community-focused culture they grew up with. And, we believe they have achieved their mission!
7) Collective Kennington (Kennington Park, 4 St Agnes Place)

The view from Collective is second to none in Kennington, as you are immersed in the nature of the park from all angles.
